Supporting your journey of self-discovery

Hello! I'm Melanie Carr, and I'm passionate about helping individuals with ADHD discover and embrace their unique strengths. My journey began in South Africa, where I grew up and explored various paths before finding my true calling. After studying jazz flute and working at a museum, I pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.

My career took interesting turns—from customer service in banking, where I built meaningful relationships with clients, to roles in marketing and technology. These experiences taught me the value of innovative thinking, creativity and problem-solving.

I struggled with anxiety and depression for years, but the pivotal moment was when I received my own ADHD diagnosis. Since the end of 2019, I've been on a continued deep dive into ADHD and much to my surprise, I discovered the incredible strengths that come with it too. My personal experiences, combined with my studies, allow me to bring both empathy and expertise to my coaching practice.

2024 saw me achieving a certificate in Neurodiversity Coaching and Mentoring with The ADHD Foundation in the UK, becoming a certified ADHD Works ADHD Coach as well as completing a Level 2 qualification in Mental Health Awareness through Sunderland College. Overall, in 2024 alone, I've spent over 200 hours studying for my qualifications. Continuing professional development is a passion for me, so the number of hours is always on the up and up.

As an ADHD coach, my mission is to create an inclusive, warm, and positive environment where you can feel understood. I believe ADHD can be a blessing, not a curse, and I want to help you see it that way too. Together, we'll explore your strengths, discover your passions, and develop strategies that work for you.
